Salisbury, MD - The Regent Royals Men's and Women's cross-country teams competed in the Don Cathcart Invitational on Saturday, October 2nd. The meet featured 17 teams, including local college Virginia Wesleyan University and NCAA Division I Delaware State University.
Women's Cross-Country Standouts -
Freshman Andrea Loos ran her first collegiate race finishing 23rd overall in the 6k with a time of 25:15.
Freshman Sarah Demeke found a nice pace and set a new personal record of 31:09 in the 6K.
Men's Cross-Country Standouts -
Freshman Jay Thompson finished 14th overall, nearly medaling while clocking in at a new school record time of 27:15 in just his second collegiate meet.
Junior Calvin Perkins raced in his first college meet and finished with a personal record of 28:45.
Junior Darryl Wood rounded out the men's team and placed 70 out of 111 runners with a season-best time of 32:39.
Coaches Notes-
After the race, Cross Country Head, Cesar Guridy said, "This one is a great stepping stone. I am pleased with times and placements by all, and even more so with some of the physical and mental adjustments we made throughout the race."

The team will next head to Farmville, VA, to compete in the Lancer Pink Open on October 8th.
