Elizabeth City, NC - The Regent Royals men's basketball team lost 50-49 to Mid-Atlantic Christian on Tuesday, December 7th. After a back and forth battle, Regent found themselves down 10 with four minutes remaining. Coming out of time out, the Royals turned up the defensive intensity to go on a run that would tie the game with under 30 seconds, but the Mustangs responded with a timely free-throw to seal the game.
Royals Standouts-
Senior Damon Hammock-Fitzgerald was a force in the paint, using a combination of physicality and finesse to lead the Royals with 14 points and 12 rebounds.
Team Notes-
The Royals are now 2-7 on the season and 0-1 in conference play. The team will have a day before traveling to Greensboro College to take on the Pride this Thursday, December 9th.
