Newport News, VA - The Regent Royals women's basketball team lost in their opening game of the EMAC tournament 49-44 to Newport News Apprentice School. The Royals played a fiercely contested matchup that saw five lead changes and three ties. Heading into the fourth down three, Regent fought to tie the game at 40 before a late run by the Builders sealed the game.
Royals Standouts-
Senior Kylie Mclendon found a way to contribute in all areas of the game scoring 11 points while grabbing seven rebounds and adding two blocks.
Junior
Brooke Glisson had one of her most efficient shooting nights of the season, going 7-11 from the field for 16 points. She added 11 rebounds to pick up her fourth double-double of the season.
