Men's Basketball Falls in NCCAA Regional Semifinals

Augusta, GA - The Regent Royals men's basketball team lost 79-43 to Carolina University on March 4th. After getting out to a strong start shooting over 50% in the first nine minutes of the game, the Royals cooled off as the Bruins found a strong offensive rhythm to take control of the game.

Royals Standouts -
Sophomore Michael Burkett took on a tough defensive assignment guarding one of the NCCAA's top offensive threats while chipping in seven points and two assists.

Coaches Notes-
After the game, Head Coach Dr. Samuel Botta said, "We faced a very good and well-coached Carolina University team tonight. Although there is always a level of disappointment when the season ends, the opportunity for our program to compete in the NCCAA South Regional was a blessing. We pray God's best for our seniors as they move forward and look ahead to Regent Men's Basketball elevating to an even higher level next season."

Team Notes -
The Royals finished a hard-fought season with a  6- 14 overall record and an EMAC tournament semifinal appearance in their first year in the conference. The Royals also made program history by earning their first trip to the NCCAA South Region tournament.
