Box Score Winston-Salem, NC - The Regent University Women's Volleyball team made history on Friday afternoon as they captured the school's first ever Regional Championship to advance to the NCCAA National Championships. The Royals had lost twice this season to Carolina University, but this day would be different. They were determined to continue their historic season and took control of the match from the start. It would turn out to be a day that will forever go down in Regent University Athletics history as the team accomplished something that has never been done before.
The first set saw the Royals win 25-22, but the Bruins would come back to tie things up by taking the second set, 25-16. However Regent played their best game of the season taking the next two sets to claim the school's first ever championship. Sophomore
Nicole Walston (Wake Forest, NC) had a dominant game finishing with 24 kills and 16 digs, while Freshman
Ella Simone (El Paso, TX) had another career best by dishing out 42 assists. In addition, Sophomore
Makayla Daniels (Chesapake, VA) recorded a team high 25 digs.
