Virginia Beach, VA - Junior
Nevaeh Ivory's (Charlottessville, VA) team high 19 points were not enough to propel the Regent University Women's Basketball team to a home win over Christendom College on Monday afternoon, as the Royals fell to the Crusaders by a score of 98-59. It was a game that would start off fast with both teams looking to grab the early advantage, but unfortunately Regent was unable to cut into the lead. While this was not the outcome the Royals wanted, their were some strong performances on the court, with three players scoring in double digits.
Newcomer, Junior
Layla Turner (Portsmouth, VA), who was playing in just her second game for Regent, finished with 14 points and Senior
Kali Murrell (Long Beach, CA) added 11 points, while converting 3 three-pointers. In addition, fellow Senior
Kaila Murrell (Long Beach, CA) scored 6 points, to go along with her 3 assists and 3 steals.
The Royals will be back in action on Thursday, January 18th when they hit the road to face Christendom again. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00pm.
