Virginia Beach, VA - On Friday night, the Regent University Women's Volleyball team hosted Christendom College, as the two teams squared off for the second time this season. Not only were the Royals looking for their fifth straight win, they were also hosting their first ever Community Night, which included giveaways, face painting and a serving contest. In addition, Regent debuted their new Black uniforms in front of the home fans. The Royals used solid serving and a strong offense to take control of the match, from start to finish, and played one of their best all-around games of the season. As a team, Regent recorded 45 kills, served up 14 aces, had 55 digs and dished out 42 assists to earn their fifth straight sweep.
Sophomore
Erin Saunders (Danville, VA), who is among the Nation's best in three statistical categories, shined at the net as she finished the game with18 kills, while serving up 3 aces. In addition, Senior
Makayla Daniels (Chesapeake, VA) had a team high 22 assists to go along with her eight digs and three aces, while Freshman
Madison Hardiman (Memphis, TN) led the Royals with 13 digs. Senior
Shaley Wertz (Kansas City, MO) and Freshman
Alaina Braun-Duin (Richmond, VA) rounded out the leaders with 14 assists and 11 kills respectively.
