Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Regent Faces Johnson & Wales In Season Finale

Charlotte, NC – On Wednesday afternoon, the Regent University Women's Soccer team found themselves in the Queen City to face Johnson & Wales University.  The Royals were in the Tarheel State for the first of their two final games of the season.  Even though the team had been hit by the injury bug, they were prepared to take the field with the Wildcats.

JWU was able to get on the board first at the 7:23 mark, but the defense tightened up and Sophomore Kristen Miller (Peoria, AZ) kept the ball out of the net.  However, with under 8 minutes remaining (32:34) in the half, the Wildcats broke through to increase their lead to two goals and would add another as Regent would go into the half trailing 3-0.

Sophomore Anna Teague (Salisbury, NC) opened up the second half was a run at the goal, but JWU was able to turn it away and eventually find the back of the net.  The Royals would create a few more opportunities but unfortunately would fall to the Wildcats by a final score of 6-0.

Miller finished the game with 10 total saves.

Regent concludes their first season under Head Coach Briley Fillenwarth and will look to the off-season to prepare for season two.
