Virginia Beach, VA – After two straight road games, the Regent University Women's Basketball team welcomed in Pfeiffer University for their home opener. Friday's game represented the second time in a row the Royals had faced a team from the USA South Conference. It would be another tough test as both teams were looking to earn their first win of the young season. However, Regent would fall in front of the home fans by a final score of 83-55.
The game would be a career night for Sophomore
My'Angel Carter (Toccoa, GA) as she created offensive opportunities for her team. Carter was able to drive her way to the basket and also take command of the offensive and defensive boards. Her effort would result in a double-double, as she scored a career high 20 points while grabbing a game high 11 rebounds (3 offensive and 8 defensive). In addition, Senior
Courtney Rowley (Lusk, WY) played a physical game as she found the basket for 10 points and dished out six assists. Sophomore
Lindora Lewis (Richmond, VA) did the same, driving to the basket for 10 points of her own, while fellow Sophomore
Shardae Williams (Fredericksburg, VA) was able to establish herself on the boards with seven rebounds (5 offensive and 2 defensive).
The Royals will be back in action when they travel to North Carolina on Tuesday, November 19th to face Chowan Universitry. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00pm.
