Virginia Beach, VA - After winning two games in a row, the Regent University Women's Basketball team welcomed in one of the nation's top teams in Carolina University on Saturday afternoon. Today's game would prove to be one of the toughest for the Royals, as the the Bruins were ranked #1 in the NCCAA South Region, but that would not intimidate Regent as they played all the way to the final second, to come away with the win by a final score of 78-76.

Jabarria Brown (Paterson, NJ) dominated on the offensive side of the ball, finishing with a game high 33 points to go along with her 10 rebounds. Her performance paced the Royals to the win and she was able to seal it with two clutch free throws as the game was coming to an end. NCCAA National Player of the Week, Senior
Kali Murrell (Long Beach, CA) had another solid game with 17 points, while going 4-5 from the free throw line. In addition, Junior
Layla Turner (Portsmouth, VA) also finished with 17 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and dished out 3 assists. As a team, Regent out rebounded Carolina 39-32 and 18 of their points came off of fast break opportunities. They also held the lead for 25 minutes during the game.
The Royals will be back in action on Saturday, February 17th as they travl to Lynchburg, VA to face NCAA Division III and ODAC member Randolph College. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:30pm.
