Virginia Beach, VA - In what was one of the fasted paced games this season, the Regent University Men's Basketball team went toe-to-toe with Berkeley College of New York on Saturday afternoon. It would be a game of runs, as both teams were not able to pull away, due to tough defense and clutch scoring. It would go down to the final two minutes, but in the end the Royals were unable to make one last run and fell by a final score of 85-75.
Freshman
Marion Brown (Chesapeake, VA) played the entire 40 minutes, having one of his best games of his young career, scoring 24 points, while pulling down 15 rebounds. In addition, fellow Freshman
Micah Eastman (Virginia Beach, VA) had a solid day from the floor, finishing with 14 points, which included going 4-5 from the free throw line and Sophomore
Darrin Clark (Suffolk, VA) and Junior
Joakim Marie-Joseph (Saint Martin) each established themselves finishing in double digits. As a team, Regent out rebounded the Knights 35-33, while forcing 20 turnovers.
The Royals will be back in action on Saturday, February 10th as they host fellow NCCAA South Region member Carolina University. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:00pm.
