Virginia Beach, VA - After a long road trip, the Regent University Women's Basketball team, returned home one final time in 2025 as they hosted Christendom College on Saturday afternoon.  With a team made up of a majority of Freshman, the Royals have been gaining experience each game and this past month they have improved in all facets of the game.  Despite falling to the Crusaders by a score of 71-47, Regent played one of their best first halves of the season and they closed out the year with optimism as they enter Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference play in January.

Freshman Kennedy Shipman (Virginia Beach, VA) led the way for the Royals with a team-high 15, points connecting on two three-pointers, while going a perfect 3-3 from the free throw line.  Shipman played all 40 minutes, anchoring Regent's backcourt and setting the tone with her leadership on both ends.  Fellow Freshman Amara Groth (Chesapeake, VA) added 9 points and 9 rebounds and Junior My'Angel Carter (Toccoa, GA) contributed 6 points and 4 rebounds, keeping the Royals competitive in the paint.  Junior Shardae Williams (Fredericksburg, VA) also chipped in 6 points, as she was able to drive to the basket.  Freshman Zipporah Johnson (Waterford, MI) got the start and finished with 3 rebounds, 4 assists and a steal, while also playing aggressive defense. Off the bench, Freshman Eliza Entzminger (Winterville, NC) brought a spark with 6 points and 5 rebounds and fellow Freshman Mikaylah Telfer (Chesapeake, VA) dominated the glass with a team-leading 9 rebounds to go along with her 2 points.

As a team, Regent was a perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line and grabbed a total of 34 rebounds, including 13 offensive boards.

The Royals will have time off for the Holidays and then be back in action on Saturday, January 10th when they host the University of Mary Washington for Regent's first ever Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conferene game.  Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00pm.
