Virginia Beach, VA – A new era has begun in the Regent University Men's Basketball program as the Royals begin their first season as a provisional member of the NCAA and as members of the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference. Head Coach Michael Allen, who is entering his first full season at the helm of the program, has rebuilt the team and recruited size, which will help Regent as they embark on their first full Division III slate.
The Royals return a number of players from last year's team, including the program's all-time scoring leader, Senior Darrin Clark (Suffolk, VA) who also set the program's single game scoring record four times in 2024-2025. In addition, Senior Brendan Goods (Melbourne, FL), who was a solid addition as a transfer last season, returns to run the point and direct a revamped offense. Senior Joshua Vogt (Rochester, NY), Junior Micah Eastman (Virginia Beach, VA) and Sophomore Brandon Williams (Windsor, NC) all saw significant playing time last year and look to play vital roles again this season. Coming off an injury, Senior Vladimir Vibert (West Palm Beach, FL) returns and hopes to pick up where he left off last season after averaging 13 points/game. Junior Logan McElveen (Virginia Beach, VA), who enters his second season with Regent, is poised to see a bigger role this year, while brothers, Junior Antoine Brown (Chesapeake, VA) and Sophomore Christian Brown (Chesapeake, VA) will be heavily relied on for scoring and rebounding. Last season Antoine broke the single season double-double record and is currently second behind Clark on the all-time scoring list, while Christian averaged a team high 18.6 points/game.
A number of new faces will wear a Royals' uniform this season beginning with 6'8 forwards Freshmen Darcy Minega (Kigali, Rwanda) and Chase Mullen (Virginia Beach, VA). Minega looks to bring a physical play down low, while Chase, who led all Virginia High Schools in block shots last year, hopes to transfer that success to the collegiate level. Rounding out the new big men are fellow Freshmen Joshua Hanna (Chesterfield, VA), Owen Collawn (Henrico, VA) and Jaxson Delane (Colonial Beach, VA) who all will bring much needed presence under the basket. The new class of guards are highlighted by Freshman Grant Worley (Chesapeake, VA), who had an outstanding career at Grassfield High School, Freshman Carmelo Martinez (San Antonio, TX), who is a strong outside shooter, and Virginia Wesleyan transfer Sophomore Ichi Layne (Middlesex, VA), who will split time with Goods at the point.
