Elizabeth City, NC - In what was a last minute addition to their schedule, the Regent University Women's Volleyball team traveled over the border to participate in a Saturday tri-match with Warren Wilson College and host Mid-Atlantic Christian University. Earlier in the season, the Royals fell to the Owls, but today would be different as they began the morning with a sweep of Warren Wilson 3-0 (25-16, 25-14 and 25-23) and then finished it off with their second sweep of day defeating the Mustangs by a final score of 3-0 (25-19, 25-14 and 25-15). Â
Game One
Regent finished the match with 35 kills on a .202 hitting percentage, as Freshman Claire Keefer (Winschester, VA) led the Royals with 15 kills, adding three service aces and nine digs. In addition, Sophomore Emma Kristiansen (Sparta, NJ) finished with six kills, while Senior Reagan Holestin (Virginia Beach, VA) and Sophomore Rylee Stewart (Newport News, VA) each added four. The Royals also found success from the service line, recording eight aces as a team with Stewart recording four, while Keefer added three.Â
Defensively, Regent worked to limit Warren Wilson's opportunities, collecting 52 digs as Freshman Mykenah Antenore (San Diego, CA) led the team with 15, followed by Holestin with 11 digs. The Royals setting helped push their offense, with Stewart dishing out 26 assists, helping her increase her program leading number. Â
Game Two
Regent controlled the match from the service line recording 12 aces and offensively finished the game with 36 kills. Stewart led the way with four aces to go along with 29 assists and nine digs, while Freshman Mia Wilson (Chesterfield, VA) recorded five kills on nine attempts. In addition, Keefer led the team with 10 kills, followed by Sophomore Brooklynn Delane (Colonial Beach, VA) with eight kills and a block. Kristiansen hit .500 with four kills on eight attempts and Sophomore Keira Anderson (Leland, NC) and Holestin helped the Royals maintain depth across the rotation.  Defensively, Antenore led the team with 13 digs and had zero reception errors, as the team finished with 45 digs overall and four blocks. Â
The win gave Regent their 10th sweep of the season and the third this week, while they also recorded the most services aces for a single week in program history. Â
