Virginia Beach, VA - After falling to Warren Wilson College last Saturday in North Carolina, the Regent University Men's Basketball team was looking to avenge that loss as they welcomed the Owls to the 757 as a part of a Sunday doubleheader. Not only would the Royals get the win, they would put on a dominant display, rolling past the Owls, 84-69, in front of packed house. Regent controlled the game from start to finish, outscoring Warren Wilson, 68-22 in the paint and finishing with a 49-25 rebounding edge.
Junior
Dorian Tema (Frederick, MD) was unstoppable in the middle, finishing with a Career High 23 points on 10-of-11 shooting, while adding 6 rebounds and a Single Game Program Record 4 blocks. Two big moments in the game came from Sophomore
Chauncey Gilliam (Chesapeake, VA), whose dunk at 7:34 in the second half capped off a 10-0 run and then Freshman
Grant Worley (Chesapeake, VA) capped off a fast break with a two-handed slam, pushing the advantage to 75-58. The bench had a productive night with 46 points, which was led by Tema's scoring, along with Senior
Darrin Clark (Suffolk, VA), who finished with 13 points. Also coming off the bench was Freshman
Chase Mullen (Virginia Beach, VA) who added 4 points and 9 rebounds. Senior
Brendan Goods (Melbourne, FL) was solid at the points guard position, chipping in 11 points, and Freshman
