Kingsborough Breaks Two Schools Records As Royals Have Strong Showing On Day One Of Betty Rogers Invite

Virginia Beach, VA - Field Events took center stage on Day One of the Betty Rogers Invitational at Virginia Wesleyan University and the Regent University Men's and Women's Track & Field team showcased one of the strengths of their program as every one competing put up strong numbers.  In fact, Junior Aidan Kingsborough (Clarkston, WA) broke two of his own School Records in both the Hammer Throw and the Javelin.  In addition, numerous Royals set Personal Records, which capped off one of the most successful days of competition this season.  

Results 

Men's Hammer Throw  

Junior Aidan Kingsborough (Clarkston, VA) broke the School Record and finished in 3rd place with a throw of 38.25m

Women's Hammer Throw 

Freshman Mikaela Cole (Farmington, NY) finished in 8th place with a Personal Record throw of 23.17m

Freshman Daesha Hill (Williamsburg, VA) had a Top 10 finish throwing 15.32m 

Women's Shot Put 

Senior LaTonya Hopkins (Virginia Beach, VA) set Personal Record with a throw of 9.38m

Freshman Daesha Hill (Williamsburg, VA) had a Personal Record throw of 8.84m

Men's Shot Put 

Junior Aidan Kingsborough (Clarkston, WA) threw a distance of 10.51m

Sophomore Jacob Winck (Breezewood, PA) set a Personal Record of 8.83m

Sophomore Jaxon Sawyer (Virginia Beach, VA) finished with a Personal Record throw of 8.40m

Men's Javelin 

Junior Aidan Kingsborough (Clarkston, WA) broke the School Record with a throw of 44.02m

Senior Nigel Rodriguez (Virginia Beach, VA) finished with a throw of 31.15m

Senior Ernest Park III (Bentonville, AR) had a Personal Record with a throw of 30.36m 

Senior Evan Pond (Powhatan, VA) threw a distance of 29.95m

Sophomore Jaxon Sawyer (Virginia Beach, VA) set a Personal Record with a throw of 27.90m

Senior Asher Ellis (Morganton, NC) had a Personal Record throw of 22.46m

Women's Long Jump 

Junior Kristi Moser (Indian Trail, NC) finished in 7th place jumping 4.92m

Junior Shylah Wells (Youngsville, NC) finished with a Personal Record jump of 4.45m

Sophomore Jordana Foose (Chesterfield, VA) set a Personal Record with a distance of 4.36m

Freshman Elizabeth Olojo (Hanover. MD) had a Personal Record jump of 4.20m

Freshman Emersyn Vandervoort (Paragould, AR) finished with a jump of 3.36m

Regent will be back in action on Saturday, March 21st when they compete in Day Two of the Betty Rogers Invitational at Virginia Wesleyan University.  Start time is at 10:00am.
