Virginia Beach, VA - For the first time in program history, the Regent University Women's Volleyball team has been recognized with the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award following an outstanding 2025-26 academic year.  The prestigious national honor is presented annually to collegiate and high school volleyball programs that demonstrate excellence in the classroom. To qualify for the award, teams must achieve a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 or higher during the academic year.

The recognition caps off a historic season for the Royals, who not only excelled academically but also enjoyed unprecedented success on the court. Regent finished the 2025 season with a 17-10 overall record, setting a new program record for victories in a single season. The Royals also earned recognition as an NCCAA All-Scholar Team, further highlighting the program's commitment to excellence in both academics and athletics.

The AVCA Team Academic Award recognizes volleyball programs that exemplify the balance between academic achievement and athletic success. Regent's accomplishment underscores the university's mission of developing Christian leaders who pursue excellence in the classroom, in competition, and in their communities.
