Virginia Beach, VA - For the first time in program history, the Regent University Women's Volleyball team has been recognized with the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award following an outstanding 2025-26 academic year. The prestigious national honor is presented annually to collegiate and high school volleyball programs that demonstrate excellence in the classroom. To qualify for the award, teams must achieve a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 or higher during the academic year.
The recognition caps off a historic season for the Royals, who not only excelled academically but also enjoyed unprecedented success on the court. Regent finished the 2025 season with a 17-10 overall record, setting a new program record for victories in a single season. The Royals also earned recognition as an NCCAA All-Scholar Team, further highlighting the program's commitment to excellence in both academics and athletics.
