Virginia Beach, VA - Former Regent University Men's Basketball standout Brendan Goods is taking the next step in his basketball career, signing a professional contract with the Worthing Thunder in England.

Goods joins the Thunder after working out for several teams in the United Kingdom this summer before ultimately deciding Worthing was the right place to begin his professional career. The Thunder compete in British basketball and have assembled a talented roster for the upcoming season.

"This summer I worked out for a few teams in the UK and decided to select the Thunder," Goods said. "I am excited to play for this team and under Zaire's leadership. They have added great talent to the roster this year, and I am excited to share with them my leadership and strong work ethic."

For Goods, beginning his professional career in England carries additional significance because of his ties to both countries.

"I am American and British and thought, where better to start my professional career than in England," Goods said.

Goods leaves Regent as one of the most productive guards in the history of the Men's Basketball program. During his career with the Royals, he established himself as a playmaker on both ends of the floor and currently ranks second in program history in assists and third in program history in steals.

His ability to distribute the basketball, create opportunities for his teammates and apply pressure defensively helped make Goods an important part of Regent during his collegiate career. Those same qualities, along with the leadership and work ethic he developed with the Royalst, will now travel with him as he makes the transition to the professional level.

Goods' signing with Worthing marks the beginning of a new chapter as the former Regent standout takes his game overseas and continues his basketball career in England.
