Barry Hollenbeck

Barry Hollenbeck enters his second season on the bench for Regent.  He is responsible for game film review, scouting and recruiting, while also assisting Head Coach Micahel Allen with the day-to-day operations of the program.  In addition, this past season Hollenbeck was named the Regent University Athletic Department's Assistant Coach of the Year. 

Coach Hollenbeck was born and raised in South NJ in a life centered around family and faith. He graduated from Egg Harbor Township High School and joined the United States Coast Guard where he retired to Chesapeake Virginia after 20 years of service. While in Coast Guard Hollenbeck was selected as a Recruit Company Commander and transformed incoming civilians into basically trained Coast Guardsmen and women.  

After a successful Coast Guard career, Hollenbeck attended the United States Sports Academy and received his Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Coaching and a minor in Sports Science. He started and coached the Hawaii Legends Grassroots basketball program in Honolulu and coached for Empire Sports in Chesapeake, VA. Hollenbeck also served as the associate head coach for Deep Creek High School for two years.  As an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for The Apprentice School Builders in Newport News, VA, he was instrumental in both their NSAC conference and USCAA Division 1 championships.  

Hollenbeck is married with two children and believes it is important to live, lead, and coach in a way that honors our faith in God.
