Regent University Athletics

Coach Daphnie Johnson brings a wealth of basketball knowledge and passion to the position with over 15 years of coaching experience. Most recently Coach Johnson served as the Associate Head Coach of Women's Basketball at Elizabeth City State University. While there, she assisted in building a championship culture and played a crucial role in helping the Vikings to three consecutive CIAA conference tournaments.  

Coach Johnson played collegiate basketball at Livingstone College and Elizabeth City State University. She graduated with a degree in Organizational Management and is currently working on a Master of Arts in Christian Ministry from Liberty University. 

Apart from basketball, Coach Johnson has a heart for mentoring student-athletes. Her coaching philosophy is built on teaching and helping prepare young adults both on and off the court.  When asked about her goals for coaching the Royals Women's Basketball team Coach Johnson said, "My goal at Regent University is to equip, mentor, inspire, and encourage student-athletes spiritually, academically, and athletically."
