Lisa Phillips

In her second year as the Regent University Head Women’s Basketball Coach, Lisa Phillips brings 16 years of coaching experience to the sidelines. She started her career as the Head Coach at Greenbrier Christian Academy in Chesapeake, Virginia, and has coached countless years at the varsity level in the Virginia Beach and Chesapeake Public School Systems. Coach Phillips also coached AAU Basketball and Paul Webb Basketball Camps. In 2016, she made her collegiate debut and coached Old Dominion University’s Club Women’s Basketball Team. She partnered with Coach Karen Barefoot and served as the Assistant Camp Coordinator for multiple basketball camps. From ODU, she accepted the job as the Head Varsity Girls Basketball Coach at Atlantic Shores Christian High School in Virginia Beach. During her time there, the team finished with a record of 23-4, secured both the conference and regional championship titles, and was ranked number 1 for the VA Division VISAA 2 Basketball Standings. The team also made an appearance at the state semifinals.

Phillips graduated from Greenbrier Christian Academy in Chesapeake, VA where she lettered four years for Varsity Basketball. She completed her undergraduate studies at Tidewater Community College. She is also co-owner of a flooring company with whom she shares with her husband of 30 years, Travis Phillips. Together they have four children and three grandchildren, and all reside in Virginia Beach.

Being a Regent Royal means true commitment to the sport you love as well as to your relationship with Christ. Coach Phillips feels blessed and extremely grateful for the opportunity to serve and walk alongside young adults through the lens of athletics.
