Roanoke, VA - The Regent Royals women's basketball team fell in their season opener to Hollins University 59 -54 on Friday, November 11. The Royals played a tightly contested match that saw eight lead changes and six ties, but a 24-point scoring outburst from Hollins in the 3rd quarter proved too much to overcome.
Royals Standouts -
Sophomore Desiree Cross had a game-high 21 points and a team-high ten rebounds on her way to her second career double-double.
Sophomore Victoria Gay gave the Royals some big minutes on both sides of the ball, scoring eight points and pulling in seven rebounds while coming away with two steals.

The Royals move to 0-1 on the season and will take on their second consecutive ODAC opponent as they play Virginia Wesleyan University on November 13 at 2:00 PM.
