Elizabeth City, NC- The Regent Royals men's basketball won their opening game in the EMAC conference tournament 71- 67 against Mid-Atlantic Christian on Tuesday, February 22nd. Taking an 11 point lead into the half, the Royals fought off multiple Mustang runs with composure and a balanced scoring attack to hold on for the win.

Royals Standouts -
Senior Damon Hammack-Fitzgerald dominated in the paint finishing strong around the basket for 13 points on the night while pulling in 11 boards to notch the double-double.
Senior Stanley Adjei kept up his signature timely shooting knocking down clutch shots to stave off the Mustang's momentum. Stanley finished the game with 13 points and six rebounds.

The Royals advance to the EMAC semi-finals and take on Newport Apprentice School on Thursday, February 24th at 6 PM.
