Winston-Salem, NC - The Regent Royals men's basketball team lost 111-104 to Carolina University on January 13. In a high-scoring back-and-forth affair, the Royals put together an incredible offensive performance setting programs records for points in a game and made field goals, but the Bruins answered in kind with a barrage of 3-point shooting to keep the game out of reach.
Royals Standouts -
Grad student Andrew Walston exploded on the offensive end to lead the Royals' attack finishing the game with 22 points while shooting 70% from the floor.
Junior Joakim Marie- Joseph had a career night scoring a personal-best 17 points while pulling in ten boards for his second double-double of the season.
Game Notes -
Regent men's basketball eclipsed the previous single-game scoring high of 87 set on November 30, 2018, against Warren Wilson College with 7 minutes left in the game and would go on to add 17 more points before the end of regulation. The Royals did so while recording 39 made field goals surpassing the previous high of 31 set last season against Patrick Henry College on November 17.

The Royals are now 1-8 on the season and will have little over a week off before hosting Mid-Atlantic Christian on Tuesday, January 24, at 8:00 PM.
