Norfolk, VA - Head Coach
Katelyn Totherow and her team have been focusing on getting back in the win column over fall break and their quest began Friday afternoon at the Kroc Center as the Regent Volleyball team hosted a tri-match with Trinity Washington University and Christendom College. It was a great opportunity for Regent to regroup and show why they are one of the best teams in the NCCAA.
Game One
The Royals played one of their best and most complete games of the season as they dominated on the offensive side defeating the Tigers in three straight sets by scores of 25-2, 25-5 and 25-3. Sophomore
Nicole Walston (Wake Forest, NC) led Regent with 16 total kills and 1 service ace. In addition, Freshman
Erin Saunders (Danville, VA) and Junior
Shaley Wertz (Kansas City, MO) each finished the game with 7 service aces. As a team they recorded 26 kills and 21 service aces.
Game Two
The Royals picked up where they left off as they cruised to another straight set victory over the Crusaders, 25-11, 25-9 and 25-15. Walston, once again, led Regent with 14 total kills, while Freshman
Ella Simone (El Paso, TX) had a career day dishing out 32 assists. As a team, the Royals recorded 38 kills and 12 service aces.
Regent will be back in action on Tuesday, October 24th as they travel to Elizabeth City, NC to face Mid-Atlantic Christian University. First serve is scheduled for 6:00pm.
