Front Royal, VA - In what was their last road game of the regular season, the Regent University Men's Soccer team faced Christendom College in a rematch from earlier in the season. The Royals would fall behind early, but the offense came alive scoring four straight goals to earn the come back win, tying the most wins in the young program's history.
The Crusaders would strike first with two goals in the first 15 minutes, however, Regent continued to create scoring opportunities and they would capitalize on one when
Tyler Hambright (Stevens, PA) converted a rebounded shot into the side of the goal, trimming the lead to 2-1. There were more chances but that is how the half ended, with the
Royals trailing by one. Regent carried that momentum into the second half, as Senior
Alex McCollum (Greensboro, NC) scored just a couple minutes in, to tie the game and that was followed with two more scores, when Sophomore
Graylan Gill (Hanover, VA) found Hambright, which was his second of the game ,and then Junior
Cameron Laubach (Millville, PA) kicked one past the keeper to grab the lead and the win, 4-2.
Hambright had a big day with his two goals, while Laubach scored his third goal in two games and led the team with two assists.. In addition, the Royals out shot Christendom 24-8. Regent will return to action for their last regular season game on November 10th as they host Carolina University at the Hampton Roads Soccer Complex. Kick-off is scheduled for 2:00pm.
