Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Royals drop Wednesday afternoon game at Carolina University

Winston-Salem, NC – In a rare early Wednesday afternoon game, the Regent University Women's Soccer team faced off against fellow NCCAA member Carolina University. After a victory over the weekend, the Royals were looking to make it two in a row and earn their fourth win of the season.

Carolina started off fast as the first half began, scoring a goal within the first minute of the game. They would try to strike again, but Freshman Goalkeeper Kristen Miller (Peoria, AZ) stood strong in the net to make the save. Unfortunately, midway through the half, the Bruins would breakthrough again to increase their lead, and as the half ended, Regent would trail, 2-0. The second half was a defensive game but with less than five minutes remaining, Carolina added another score and that is how the game would end, with the Royals falling, 3-0.

Sophomore Avery Bravo (Victorville, CA) led Regent with 4 total shots, while Freshman Ayden Malloy (Laconia, NH) finished with 3 total shots. In goal, Miller recorded 5 saves and Freshman Gracie Madden (Ashland, KY) turned away a shot in the second half.

The Royals will be back in action on Friday, October 6th when they host Johnson & Wales University. The game will be played at the Hampton Roads Soccer Complex and kick-off is scheduled for 3:00pm.
