Winston-Salem, NC – In another historic moment for Regent University Athletics, the Regent University Women's Soccer team made the program's first ever appearance in the NCCAA South Regional Semifinals on Tuesday afternoon against host Carolina University. Coach Christine Moorehead's team had just completed the best regular season they have ever had and were hoping to continue their run in the game against the Bruins. Unfortunately, they were unable to come away with the win, but right after the game Director of Athletics Michael W. Allen informed the Royals that they had officially received an at-large bid to the NCCAA National Tournament in Orlando, FL.
Regent was led by Freshman Olivia Charles (Barboursville, WV) who scored a goal in the first half, while Sophomore Avery Bravo (Victorville, CA) finished the game with 4 total shots. The Royals will now await their draw in the National Tournament and all fans are encouraged to check www.regentroyals.com for all updated games and schedules in Florida.
