Ferrum, VA – The Regent Women's Basketball team headed west to the mountains for a Sunday afternoon match-up with Ferrum College. It would prove to be another tough test for the Royals but they started out strong but would eventually fall, 64-53.  

The first quarter was a tight contest, with Regent keeping the game close behind the play of Junior Jabarria Brown (Paterson, NJ), to pull to within 11-7. They were able to keep up the momentum at the beginning of the second quarter, to take the lead 17-11, and as halftime was approaching Senior Kali Murrell (Long Beach, CA) found her stroke to hold off a big run by the Panthers to go into the locker room tied 23-23. 

Unfortunately, the third quarter saw Ferrum come out and find their offensive rhythm to outscore the Royals by 8 points. Regent was able to tighten up on defense in the fourth quarter and Freshman Lindora Lewis (Richmond, VA) came in the game to put points on the board. However, as the final horn sounded, the Royals would fall by a final score of 64-53. 

Regent was led by Murrell who finished the game with 15 points, while her sister Senior Kaila Murrell (Long Beach, CA) added 11 points. In addition, as a team the Royals scored 22 points in the paint. Regent will return to action after Thanksgiving on Tuesday, November 28th when they travel to Washington, DC to face Trinity Washington University. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00pm.
