Washington, DC - Behind the offensive effort of Seniors
Kali Murrell (Long Beach, CA) and
Kaila Murrell (Long Beach, CA), the Regent University Women's Basketball team came away with their second road win of the year, defeating Trinity Washington University by a final score of 71-50. It was a game that saw the Royals jump out to a quick lead in the first quarter, but the Tigers would make a run in the second quarter to trim the advantage to once point at halftime 21-22. However, Regent outscored Trinity Washington by 15 points in the third quarter and held on in the fourth quarter to leave the nation's capital with the win.
The Murrell sisters led the Royals offensively with Kali scoring 21 points and Kaila finishing with 16 points. In addition, they combined for a total of 8 assists and 6 steals. Freshman
Zandie Smith (Cayman Islands) grabbed a team high 12 rebounds, while Graduate Student
Brooke Glisson (Virginia Beach, VA) recorded a game high 5 blocks. Regent will be back in action on Friday, December 1st, as they travel to Georgia to participate in the Covenant Classic. Their first game is against Covenant College and tip-off is scheduled for 5:00pm. Â
