Royals and Mid-America Christian battle in Game 2 at Nationals

Point Lookout, MO – The Regent University Volleyball team entered day two of t.he National Tournament with a mission to be one of the four teams to advance to the next round. Standing in their way was Mid-America Christian University who came in as the #3 seed. They would go toe-to-toe with the Eagles

The first set was back and forth between the two teams and Regent would eventually take the lead 11-9 behind the play of Sophomore Nicole Walston (Wake Forest, NC). However, Mid-America Christian was able to regain the advantage and win the set 25-18. The second set saw the Eagles take a quick lead 7-1, but the Royals were able to chip away at it with Walston, Junior Jordan Banister (Chesapeake, VA) and Freshman Erin Saunders (Danville, VA) leading the way. Unfortunately, they were not able to take the set and would fall 25-15. As the third set began, Saunders set the pace with her serves to give Regent an early advantage, 3-0. Banister would continue the serving dominance to push the lead to 7-1 but things tightened up as the Eagles came back to make the score 12-11. They would continue their come back and the Royals would fall in a close final set 25-23.
