Bridgewater, VA – The Regent University Men's Soccer team hit the road on Friday for an afternoon match-up with NCAA Division III and Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) member Bridgewater College. The two teams have a history of close games and today's was no different. While the Royals had some opportunities, they were unable to come away with the win, falling to the Eagles, 1-0. 

The first half was a defensive struggle as neither team was able to mount many scoring opportunities. It would stay that way until the 37:17 mark, when Bridgewater found the back of the net to take the lead, 1-0. That score would remain the same as the teams headed into halftime. The second half was identical to the first, as both teams tried to mount an attack, but were unable to convert. Regent goalkeeper Freshman Conner Henriques (Spotsylvania, VA) held strong denying any scoring chances the Eagles had. Unfortunately, as the horn sounded, the Royals would fall by a final score of 1-0. 

Regent will be back in action on Wednesday, September 6th when they travel a few miles down the road to face Virginia Wesleyan University. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:00pm.
