Ashland, VA – On a brisk Friday evening, the Regent University Men's Soccer team traveled west on I-64 for a match-up with NCAA Division III and ODAC member Randolph-Macon College. The two teams had met previously on two occasions, with the Yellow Jackets winning both games. However, the Royals were looking to change history to earn the first win of the series. 

Early in the first half, Randolph-Macon capitalized on a rebound in front of the goal to take the early lead, 1-0. Regent would put some pressure on the Yellow Jackets, but at the 24th minute, Randolph-Macon added another score, to increase the lead to two goals. That was followed up with a header on a cross to extend the advantage to 3-0 and then a shot to the right of the goal to end the half with the Royals trailing 4-0. 

The second half saw Regent come out with some offensive pressure and it paid off when Freshman Keith Cardenas (Williamsburg, VA) found Freshman Tafadzwa Deko Churumanzi (Kwekwe, South Zimbabwe) for the Royals first goal of the game. However, the Yellow Jackets were able to add another and as the final horn sounded, Regent would fall by a final score of  

The Royals will be back in against on Wednesday September 20th as they host Methodist University at Norfolk Christian. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:00pm.
