Virginia Beach, VA – On Saturday afternoon, the Regent University Men's Basketball team played one of its most complete games of the year, as they cruised to a win over Virginia University of Lynchburg, 113-78. It was the second time in two games the Royals have eclipsed the century mark, and they did it behind the scoring of five players who were in double-digits, which also included a double-double.
Freshman Marion Brown (Chesapeake, VA) continued to show why he is one of the best scorers in the country finishing the game with 28 points, going 13-15 from the floor, while Sophomore Darrin Clark (Suffolk, VA) produced a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds. In addition, Freshman Modokwe Piyassa (Lome, VA) had one of his best performances of the year scoring 18 points, while going a perfect 2-2 from the free throw line. Regent had two more players in double figures as Junior Joakim Marie-Joseph (Saint Martin) added 16 points and Freshman Micah Eastman (Virginia Beach, VA) finished with 12 points. As a team, the Royals outrebounded the Dragons 56-19 and had 74 points in the paint to go along with 21 second chance points.
Regent will be back in action on Thursday, February 22nd when they host Mid-Atlantic Christian University on Senior Night. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00pm.
