Virginia Beach, VA - It was the "Border Battle" on Thursday evening as the Regent University Men's Basketball team welcomed in Mid-Atlantic Christian University, from North Carolina, for the Royals last home game of the season. It was also Senior Night, as Senior
Mark Nyce (Laurel, DE) was honored prior to the start of the game. The game would live up to the hype, as both teams went to-to-toe with each other and the fans were treated to extra basketball as the outcome would not be decided until the 2nd overtime. Unfortunately, Regent came up short, as they fell to the Mustangs by a final score of 85-79.
Junior
Joakim Marie-Joseph (Saint Martin) finished the game with a double-double, scoring 24 points, while pulling down 13 rebounds. In addition, the NCCAA National Player of the Week, Freshman
Marion Brown (Chesapeake, VA) added 11 points and Nyce ended his last home game with 7 points to go along with 1 blocked shot. As a team, the Royals out rebounded MACU by a margin of 58-54 and had 6 total blocked shots.
Regent will be back in action for their final game of the season as they travel to Winston-Salem, NC to face Carolina University on Tuesday, February 27th. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00pm.
