Virginia Beach, VA - For the second straight night, the Regent Women's Basketball team's offense came alive as they hosted Berkeley College of New York for the second time this year. While the first game earlier in the season was close, today's contest was never in doubt as, once again, Senior
Kali Murrell (Long Beach, CA) found her range from the three point line, going 7-9, for 27 points. In addition, she was a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line to finish with a game high 27 points. Murrell's effort, along with the dominate play of her teammates, allowed the Royals to come away with the win, 96-56.
Junior
Jabarria Brown (Paterson, NJ) continues to be one of the most consistent players on the team as she added 20 points, while dishing out a team high 6 assists. On the boards, Senior
Kaila Murrell (Long Beach, CA) pulled down 15 rebounds, giving her a double-double with her 13 points, and Junior
Nevaeh Ivory (Charlottesville, VA), Junior
Courtney Rowley (Lusk, WY) and Junior
Layla Turner (Portsmouth, VA) all finished in double digits in the game. As a team, they held the Knights to only 37.9% from the field, while also not allowing them to shoot over 30% from the three point line.
Regent will have a week off but will be back in action on Saturday, February 3rd when they host fellow NCCAA South Region member Carolina University. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00pm.
