Virginia Beach, VA - A new era in Regent University Women's Soccer began Friday night at the Princess Annee Sports Complex, with the Royals hosting Eastern Mennonite University.  While there were a number of new faces in a Regent uniform, there was also a new face on the sideline with Coach Briley Fillenwarth coaching her first regular season game with the Royals.  In addition, the Regent upperclassmen were ready to set the tone early against an NCAA Division III and ODAC member.  Both teams went toe-to-toe from the opening whistle, but the Royals would ultimately fall by a final score of 1-0.

Sophomore Goalie Kristen Miller (Peoria, AZ) had a solid night in the net, with a game total of 10 saves, while offensively Freshman Jordana Foose (Chesterfield, VA) led Regent with a total of five shots (three on goal).  Sophomore Rhyan Primmer (Stafford, VA) also anchored a defense that shut down a number of scoring opportunities. 

The Royals will have a week to regroup before returning to action when they host Sweet Briar College.  Kick-off is scheduled for 6:00pm.
