Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Regent sets program's largest margin of victory record with win over MACU, 10-0

Elizabeth City, NC - After a short drive over the border to the Tarheel State, the Regent University Men's Soccer team faced host Mid-Atlantic Christian University in a mid-week match-up.  It was a game that saw the Royals offense come alive and set a program record, with a win over the Mustangs, 10-0.  The ten goal difference, would turn out to be the largest margin of victory ever set by a Regent soccer team and it was also the first time a Coach Okai team has scored in double digits in a single game.  With the two records set, the Royals drove north back up Route 17 with an early season overall record of 2-1.

Freshman Samuel McMullin (Rockingham, VA) recorded the first hat trick of the season, while Sophomore Tyler Hambright (Stevens, PA) and Junior Drew Thomas (Lynchburg, VA) each finished the game with two goals of their own.  Freshman Dominick Rivera (East Haven, CT) scored his first collegiate goal to go along with an assist and Senior Josh Moore (Damascus, MD) also put one past the keeper.  Rounding out the scoring for Regent was Junior College transfer, Sophomore Daniel Hayner (Northumberland, PA) who scored his first goal of the season, while Thomas and Freshman Austin Johns (Middleburgh, NY) each added an assist to the score book.

The Royals will be back in action on Saturday, September 7th as a part of a doubleheader, when they face Gallaudet University.  Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00pm.
