Norfolk, VA – Entering their second to last home game of the season, the Regent University Men's Soccer team welcomed in Lancaster Bible College on Monday night.  This was the first time the two teams have ever met, and it was the start of a home and home series this year and next.  The Royals were looking to keep the momentum from their draw this past Saturday, and they knew that would start with creating scoring opportunities.
The first half was physical as both teams fought for position.  Regent stuck to their game plan as Junior Yann-Olivier Kamga (Woodbridge, VA) had numerous runs at the Chargers goal.  In addition, Junior Isaiah Morris (Harrisonburg, VA) and Freshman Jonathan Dedho-Amaya (Raleigh, NC) also were able to put pressure on the keeper.  Goalkeeper Trevor Grosch (Chesapeake, VA), along with Junior Lucas Prendergast (Virginia Beach, VA) and Freshman Raik Peter (Bremen, Niedersachsen) shutdown the Lancaster Bible attack and at the half the score was tied 0-0.  Unfortunately, the Chargers would breakthrough in the second half and as the final horn sounded the Royals fell by a final score of 1-0.
Kamga finished with 5 total shots, while Morris, Dedho-Amaya and Senior Graylan Gill (Beaverdam, VA) had 2 apiece.  Grosch finished the game with 7 saves, while as a team, Regent had a total of 14 shots.
The Royals will be back in action on October 22nd when they travel to Maryland to face Saint Mary's College.  Kick-off is scheduled for 3:30pm.
