St. Mary's City, MD – The Regent University Men's Soccer team was back on the road Wednesday afternoon as they traveled north to Maryland for a match-up with Saint Mary's College.  The Royals were coming off a heartbreaking loss on Monday night and were looking to bounce back, as Junior Trevor Grosch (Chesapeake, VA) would get the start in goal for the third straight game.  The team would look to rally around Grosch and head home with a win.
It did not take long for Regent to get on the board in the first half, as Freshman Raik Peter (Bremen, Niedersachsen) sent a free kick from midfield over the head of the Seahawks' keeper for his first ever collegiate goal.  After an answer by Saint Mary's, the Royals, once again, took the lead on a goal by Freshman Jonathan Dedho-Amaya (Raleigh, NC).  They would add another when Junior Yann-Olivier Kamga (Woodbridge, VA) stole the ball on the defensive side of the field and found a streaking Junior Isaiah Morris (Harrisonburg, VA) who fired a shot to the left corner.  That goal allowed Regent to go into halftime leading 3-2.  The second half saw both teams create scoring chances, but the Royals were able to control the pace of the game.  However, with just under four minutes remaining in the game, the Seahawks found the back of the net twice and as the final horn sounded, Regent would fall by a final score of 4-3.
The Royals will be back in action on Saturday, October 25th when they host Mid-Atlantic Christian University for Senior Day.  Kick-off is scheduled for 5:00pm.
