Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Regent And Eastern Mennonite Face Off In Harrisonburg Saturday Afternoon

Harrisonburg, VA – Playing through pain and adversity is something the Regent University Women's Soccer team has had to do recently.  While they have had to rally around each other, that has not stopped the Royals from showing off a defense that can play with anyone on their schedule.  Today would present another challenge as Regent faced Eastern Mennonite University out of the ODAC.  The two teams met last year in a close game and the Royals were looking to keep today's match-up close and create some opportunities to get the offensive in a rhythm.

Junior Kristen Miller (Peoria, AZ), as she has done all season in the goal, tuned away a number of EMU shots to keep Regent in the game.  Defenders Junior Rhyan Primmer (Stafford, VA), Sophomore Serenity Cortez (Fresno, CA) and Freshman Lianne Edmiston (Dallas, OR) pushed back any chances EMU had and at the half the score remained tied at 0-0.  Unfortunately, having to play without any subs in the second half, the Royals were unable to get on the board and would fall by a final score of 2-0.

Regent will be back in action on Wednesday, October 8th when they travel to Roanoke, VA to face Hollins University.  Kick-off is scheduled for 4:00pm.
