Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Regent Begins NC Swing At Johnson & Wales University

Charlotte, NC – The Regent University Men's Soccer team began a weekend swing through the Tar Heel State on Saturday afternoon, as they faced fellow Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference member Johnson & Wales University.  After a shutout win last week, the Royals were looking to carry that momentum into today's game, as they begin to close out their regular season.

The first half saw both defenses turn away scoring chances, but the Cougars were eventually able to convert a corner kick and followed that up with another goal and at halftime Regent would trail 2-0.  In the second half, Seniors Graylan Gill (Beaverdam, VA) and Drew Thomas (Lynchburg, VA) tried to jump start the offense by clearing the ball out of the defensive zone to create runs for the offense.  Unfortunately, Johnson & Wales was able to add another goal, but that was answered by the Royals when Freshman Jacob Holestin (Virginia Beach, VA) sent a cross in front of the net that found Junior Isaiah Morris (Harrisonburg, VA) for the goal.  Holestin would do it again, but this time scoring on his own to keep Regent within striking distance.  However, the Royals could not get any closer and would fall by a final score of 5-2.

Regent will be back in action on Sunday, November 2nd when they state in North Carolina to face Warren Wilson College.  Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00pm.
