Lynchburg, VA - In the final game of a three-day road trip, the Regent University Women's Basketball team saw two of their own record double-doubles against ODAC member Randolph College.  Junior My'Angel Carter (Toccoa, GA) added to her program leading double-double record finishing with 12 points and 15 rebounds, while Freshman Mikaylah Telfer (Chesapeake, VA) scored a career high 12 points and grabbed 14 rebounds.  In addition, Carter was one shy from her career high defensive rebounds, pulling down a total of 11.  The duos' effort helped the Royals out rebound the Wildcats 42-35, with 30 of those coming on the defensive end of the court.

In the game, Regent came out disciplined early, moving the ball and creating quality looks from the perimeter. Freshman Kennedy Shipman (Virginia Beach, VA) connected on two three-pointers and Junior Shardae Williams (Fredericksburg, VA) was able to establish herself in the paint finishing the game with 7 points and 5 rebounds.  Regent's defensive intensity was evident, forcing several early turnovers and contesting Randolph's shooters effectively in the opening minutes.  After a slow start in the first quarter, the Royals began to find their way keeping the second quarter close at 21-20.  The third quarter was almost identical as both teams traded baskets to end at 13-12, however in the fourth quarter, the Wildcats pulled away for win 71-46.     

Regent will be back in action on Saturday, December 20th when they host Christendom College in the final game before Christmas.  Tip-off is scheduled for 12:00pm.
