Norfolk, VA – For the first time this season, the Regent University Men's Soccer team walked on their home field for a Wednesday night match-up with William Peace University. After four straight road games, the Royals were ready to play in front of their home crowd, while also debuting a new look team. The Pacers would present a challenge as they are the defending USA South Championship, but Regent would come in with something to prove.
While the Royals had some opportunities, William Peace was able to capitalize on a few crosses and eventually they would go into the half ahead 5-0. However, as the second half began, Junior Isaiah Morris (Harrisonburg, VA) took advantage of a foul in the box and converted a penalty kick to give Regent their first goal of the game. The Royals had a few more chances but as the buzzer sounded, they would fall by a final score of 9-1.
Regent will be back in action on Saturday, September 13th when they hit the road for a match-up with the University of Lynchburg. Kick-off is scheduled for 5:00pm.
