Decatur, GA – After a successful day one of their road trip, the Regent University Women's Soccer team, looked to sweep their Georgia swing as they faced Agnes Scott College on Thursday afternoon. With their offense coming alive the day before, the Royals would look to capitalize on that strategy against the Scotties.
The first half began with a quick goal by Agnes Scott, but Regent began to settle in and created some offensive chances. Those chances would pay off at the 23:10 mark when Senior Marissa Crawley (Charlotte, NC) converted a penalty to tie the game and at halftime the score would remain tied at 1-1. The second half presented more opportunities for the Royals, but they were unable to capitalize. Unfortunately, the Scotties found the back of the net one more time and as the final horn sounded Regent would fall by a score of 2-1.
As a team, the Royals finished with 18 total shots and attempted 8 corner kicks. Junior Goalkeeper Kristen Miller (Peoria, AZ) recorded 5 saves in the game.
Regent will be back in action on Saturday, September 13th as they complete their road trip in Lynchburg, VA when they face Randolph College. Kick-off is scheduled for 2:00pm.
