Charlotte, NC – After sweeping the first game of their weekend road trip, the Regent University Women's Volleyball team traveled to the Queen City Saturday to face fellow Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference member Johnson & Wales University. The two teams have met before, but this would be the first time they have taken the court together as NCAA DIII programs. The Royals were looking to finish the weekend on a positive note by heading back to the 757 with a win and they would do just that by sweeping the Cougars by a final score of 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 25-22).
Junior Erin Saunders (Danville, VA) led the way for Regent finishing with a game-high 14 kills to go along with 3 service aces, while Sophomore Alaina Braun-Duin (Stephens City, VA) recorded 12 kills and a team-high 12 digs. In addition, Freshman Rylee Stewart (Newport News, VA) continued to set her team up for points finishing with 34 assists and fellow Freshman Emma Kristiansen (Sparta, NJ) had a solid day serving up 3 aces. As a team, the Royals had 38 total kills, 43 digs and 10 service aces.
Regent will be back in action on Saturday, September 27th when they travel through the tunnel to face Christopher Newport University. First serve is scheduled for 5:00pm.
