Buena Vista, VA – It was back on the bus for the Regent University Men's Soccer team Wednesday afternoon as they traveled west to face Southern Virginia University.  The road has become a familiar place for the Royals, but they were accustomed to it and ready for another challenge.  Today's match-up presented another opportunity to get in the win column but they would need to breakthrough against a veteran Knights's defense. 

Regent wasted no time putting pressure on the goal to start the first half and were able to create a quick scoring chance.  For the next 15 minutes, the game was a back-and-forth affair until Southern Virginia broke the tie with back-to-back goals and send the teams into halftime with the Royals trailing 2-0. Unfortunately, just two minutes into the second half, the Knights would add another score. Freshman Jonathan Deho-Amaya (Raleigh, NC) gave Regent some offensive opportunities attacking the goal on two separate occasions, while Junior Connor Henriques (Soptsylvania, VA) made some critical diving saves to keep the Royals in the game.  However, as the final horn sounded, the Royals would fall by a final score of 5-0. 

Regent will be back in action on Saturday, September 27th when they travel to Maryland to face Conference foe Salisbury University.  Kick-off is scheduled for 1:00pm.
