Viginia Beach, VA - A new era of Regent University Athletics will officially begin this spring as the Regent University Softball team takes the field for its inaugural season in 2027.
The Royals are set to play a schedule featuring opponents from Virginia, Maryland and North Carolina, highlighted by several home doubleheaders in Virginia Beach, the Crossbay Bash and the program's first season of Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference competition.
"We're incredibly excited about our inaugural spring schedule dropping and the opportunity it gives our program to compete against a wide range of established programs", said Head Coach Jessica Goldyn. "Our 36-game schedule will challenge us in different ways, and that's exactly what we want in our first season. We understand that as a new program, we have a lot to prove and a lot to learn, and we're not taking any opponent or opportunity for granted. Our goal is to show up every day ready to compete, represent Regent's mission and continue laying the foundation for what we hope will become a special program for years to come. We're excited to take this first step, and most of all, we're excited to do it together".
Regent will make history on Sunday, Feb. 21st, when the Royals host Marymount University for the first two games in program history. First pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 1 p.m., with game two slated for 3 p.m. Following opening weekend, Regent will hit the road for three consecutive doubleheaders, with Averett University on Feb. 27th before heading to Maryland to face the University of Notre Dame of Maryland on March 6th and McDaniel College on March 7th.

After the tournament, Regent travels to Washington College on March 20th before returning home to host Mary Baldwin University on March 24th. The Royals will close out March on the road against Sweet Briar College on March 31st.
