Men's Volleyball Officially Joins The Continental Volleyball Conference

Virginia Beach, VA - The Regent University men's volleyball program continues to make significant strides in its development as the Royals prepare to enter their third season of competition in 2027.  The growth continues as Regent, along with Warren Wilson College and William Peace University, has officially joined the Continental Volleyball Conference (CVC), establishing a new chapter in the team's young but already promising history.  The Royals will begin competing this season in the CVC.

"We are honored to become official members of the Continental Volleyball Conference and want to thank commissioner J.J. Nekoloff, and all existing membership, for helping make this happen", said Executive Director of Athletics Michael W. Allen.  "The CVC has been a nationally credible league for sixteen years now, which provides opportunities for student athletes to be exposed to not only quality competition, but also to compete for conference championships, and ultimately a pathway to the NCAA National Tournament. By receiving an invitation to join the CVC, we are excited to offer these same benefits to our student athletes as we continue to grow our men's volleyball program. We look forward to developing new congenial relationships with fellow CVC members and cannot wait to start competing this coming Spring".

The move to the Continental Volleyball Conference provides Regent with an  opportunity to take the next step in its development. Competing in an established NCAA Division III conference will give the Royals the chance to develop new rivalries, compete for conference championships, and further strengthen the program's reputation within the growing landscape of collegiate men's volleyball.

Leading the Royals into this new era will be first-year head coach Taylor Dafoe, who takes over a program eager to build upon the foundation established during its first two seasons. Dafoe, who spent the past few seasons as the Head Coach at the University of Valley Forge, will guide Regent into conference competition with an emphasis on player development, establishing a competitive team culture, and positioning the Royals for continued growth.

Founded in 2011, the Continental Volleyball Conference has undergone several membership changes throughout its history, transitioning from a conference with a coast-to-coast footprint to a more regional alignment as NCAA men's volleyball continues to expand. The addition of Regent, Warren Wilson, and William Peace reflects the conference's commitment to providing competitive opportunities for developing programs while strengthening the sport throughout the region.
