Charlotte, NC – Freshman Kennedy Shipman (Virginia Beach, VA) had a team high 21 points, while fellow Freshman Eliza Entzminger (Winterville, NC) scored a career-high 11 points and 9 rebounds as the Regent University Women's Basketball team faced Johnson & Wales University in a Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference match-up Saturday afternoon. While the Royals did not get the win, they were able to out rebound the Wildcats on the defensive end 34-24 and out shot them from behind the three-point line 8-6.
Entzminger started the game out by scoring 7 points and then Shipman found the hot hand as she drained four three-pointers in the game. Freshman Mia Whitehurst (Nashville, TN) played her most minutes of her career and scored 3 points, while Freshman Mikaylah Telfer (Chesapeake, VA) grabbed a total of 8 rebounds and 2 steals in 32 minutes of play.
Regent will remain in the Tarheel State as they are back in action on Sunday, February 8th when they face Warren Wilson College. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00pm.
